The opportunity
Direct Lending’s mission is to bridge the credit gap and empower individuals and small business owners to improve their quality of life. We launched our fully digital, Shariah-compliant auto service financing in early 2022 to alleviate the financial burden of unexpected car repair bills for car owners. Since then, we have experienced remarkable growth with over 1,500 car workshops signed up, helping over 10,000 car owners. Our goal is to be the go-to financing platform for the credit underserved, addressing their various financing needs with innovative, need-based financing solutions.
We are seeking a business-minded and detail-oriented Credit and Collection Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in overseeing the credit and collection functions for our auto service financing and workshop financing products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit management, excellent analytical skills, good business acumen, and a passion for ensuring financial inclusion through responsible lending practices.
What Will You Be Doing
- Credit Management: Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to ensure sound credit decisions and optimize risk-return
- Collection Strategies: Design and execute effective collection strategies to manage overdue accounts and ensure timely repayments
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the credit and collection team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators related to credit and collection activities and provide regular reports to senior management
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify challenges and opportunities, and find ways to improve credit and collection processes by leveraging technology and best practices to drive bottom-line growth
- Collaboration: Work closely with the data science, product and business development teams to optimize the return of the financing portfolio within a certain credit risk parameter
Are You The One
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. Proven experience in credit management, with a strong track record in credit and collection roles and able to lead a team effectively
- Business-minded with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Determined, highly motivated, and results-driven
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Good communication skills and a team player. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure
- Passion for financial inclusion and making a positive impact on society
